Sunday morning at the Rec Center Senior room the Lodge provided breakfast for 116 girl scouts and their leaders at 6:30. Super crew had every thing ready to go. The leaders said it was the smoothest operation and the best meal in all the years they have been doing the overnight. They even asked us to do it again next year!
Thursday evening, March 5th was stated meeting. Pot luck dinner at 6:30 followed by opening of Lodge at 7:30. F.C. Degree on two candidates followed by a short business meeting. Jeffry Hillman did the F.C. Lecture.
Dues notices have gone out. Dues card will be mailed shortly along with a calander of meetings for the year.
Notice that the meeting in December has been moved to the 17th with a dispensation from the Grand Master. The regular Annual Meeting would have been New Year's Eve.
There was a Stated Communication on February 5, 2009. A short business meeting was held followed work for 1 candidate in the E.A. Degree. J.W. Bro. Jeffrey Hillman sat in the East for the degree. Troy Hodgdon was Senior Deacon doing work fot the first time. Wor. David Sawyer provided a shrimp stew for 45 people. Bay View Lodge was there with 10 members and took away the Traveling Gavel.
Practices for the F.C. Degree on two candidates will be held at 6:00 P.M. in the ambulance rooms at the fire station. Dates are Feb. 19th and 26th.
A link for the Masonic Monitor is in links at the left of this page. The book has recently been put on line by the New York City Public Library. It is an 1808 reprint of a 1797 publication. It is amazing how the lectures and charges in that book are still in unaltered use today. The whole book can be downloaded to be read and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The back wall of the Lodge has new siding and a new door into the celler. As part of the effort we are seeking financial donations to help defray the cost of the upgrades and not deplete our small treasury. Interest and dues just cover our yearly expenses. All donations will go towards funding the improvements. If any brethren have any fund raising ideas, please contact me or let any of the officers know.
