March 8, 2008
Stated Meeting for March was on the 5th.
Accomplished at that meeting: 1: Fellowship Night: Wade and Neal had put together an address list of all those invited to Fellowship Night. We added an additional 3-4 names during the night. Wade also created an invitation to be mailed and we have a calling committee to follow up after the mailing. Neal, Travis, Wade, and Darren are on that committee. Dana will be presenting a 15-20 minute program during the evening. He can give the same program at the next Stated Meeting if anyone is interested and we get a TV and DVD player. Travis Corson will be providing the TV and either he or Jim Williamson will provide the DVD for Fellowship Night. Travis will need help getting the TV to the lodge hall.
2: Food Bank Donations: We raised just over $400 to be donated to the local food bank. We will be adding more to that amount from the Post & Pillar club funds. Neal thought if the food bank could raise $1200 they would be matched with an additional $1000. Wade is trying to coordinate handing the donation to the United Economic Ministry on Tuesday night at 6 pm at our lodge (3/10). He is lining up someone to take a picture and have an article in the local paper. All brothers are encouraged to attend.
3:Other business: Old business was discussed about the fire safe and we chose to wait until Tom was in the East to create a motion. New business was brought up about a "books for bikes" program by Worshipful Brother Bob Meade. He will send an email framing up the program to one of our officers. Very Worshipful Dana brought up the District supper that all lodges are requested to donate toward. This will probably be addressed and voted on next meeting. Wor. Ivan Howard - R.W. Rufus had just visited Ivan in the hospital a day or so before the meeting. He is still unable to move one side of his body and is having trouble with his short term memory. We signed a card for him for David Holmes to mail.
Planning for the future: Grand Lodge is at Portland on May 5 and 6, 2009
Stated meeting for February was Thursday evening February 5th. It was a productive meeting with a good turn out. Planning was done for a Fellowship Night the first part of April.
Annual meeting saw the election and appointment of all officers for 2009. Rufus Cox and his suite of officers installed Thomas Ferris, Darren Maxsimic, and Wade Browne as the three principal officers.
In the Lodge Pictures section of this page are pictures of the Thanksgiving Day preperation of dinner for 350 that takes place each year at Mt. Blue High School. One of the picetures shows Neal Tranten, the Elder.
Fraternally, Tom
